Mission Building

Want to help short term?
Whether or not you have done a DTS, you are welcome under the Mission Building programme.

Mission Builders join us as staff on the base usually to help in a specific area, but sometimes as general helpers.
Yes, you might be building or renovating, but possibly not!
You might be able to help with cooking, grounds maintenance, some administrative work or similar, depending on the need at the time and your skills.

All staff and Mission Builders pay NZ$80 per week to cover food, accommodation, laundry and internet.

Projects in the next 6 months are:

Kitchen help

In order to provide three meals a day for the students as well as for the staff on base we have one person that is in charge of the kitchen. That person is usually assisted by two helpers who prepare vegetables, bake cookies, etc. A little bit of experience with kitchen work is appreciated.

Grounds

We have quite a number of gardens around the base with local flowers and plants. We also try to grow the herbs that we use for cooking ourselves. This job consists of maintaining those gardens.

Maintenance/Painting/Decorating

There is equipment and buildings on the base that need regular maintenance and painting. There are also a number of vans that are in a constant need of a mechanical hand. So if you know how to work with a paintbrush or other tools you are very welcome here!
