BSN Starts

We are delighted to be hosting the first ever Bible School for the Nations in the Pacific Region.
We have students from USA, Germany, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and hopefully soon from Guam and The Solomon Islands.
Funny that the weather's turned cold since they arrived last week!

Already we have amazing testimonies of how some of them have received the money to travel and for the school.
We will post some of these stories soon.
In the mean time, please pray with us for the remaining school costs to be met.
There is a scholarship fund set up if you wish to invest into these lives - contact us if you wish to know more. The BSN will equip these students to further train people in remote areas with sound Biblical teaching. It is truly a school that will transform nations!

From the Regional Directors

Well as you might have heard through the BSN grapevine (or coconut wireless as we say in the islands) the first Pacific BSN is about to be birthed in May this year.
We (that is Tim and Nelly Bergman plus Hinrich and Katrina and Steeve from New Caledonia - graduates from Perth '08/'09 BSN,  and Beth-Ann from Madison) will be kicking it off here at Oakridge, NZ with the 4th month of lecture plus outreach being in the Fiji Islands.

We would like to see representatives from as many islands in the Pacific attend in order to see the school continue to run in different parts of the Pacific.
At the moment we already have applicants from New Caledonia (3) Vanuatu (2) PNG (3) and Yap, Micronesia (1) as well as Germany (1) and USA (2)
We are very excited about this and really want to see everyone who has a heart to study God's Word in greater depth and to get to know Him more and be equipped to teach others to do so, able to attend the school.

Just to give some idea of what this means for someone coming from Vanuatu or  PNG:
In Vanuatu the minimum wage is US$148 per month (so it would take 2 years to earn the school fees) and in PNG it is 37.50 Kina per week ( a 20 kg bag of rice costs 60 Kina) so you can do your maths to see what a huge challenge the school fees represent. IN PNG terms the school costs 146 bags of rice! I just got  a letter from one of the Nivans (from Vanuatu) applying for the school. He said he got his paycheck for one week working as a security guard and it was $US 25. He was wondering how he would even manage to come up with his airfare and visa.
In comparison working at minimum wage in NZ one could earn the school fees in 2 1/2 months!!

But we also know that it is God's heart to see the islands "filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea".
So we have decided to set up a "Pacific BSN scholarship fund".
This is not to take the responsibility away from each person to pray, work and fundraise to do their part in raising the funds, but we want to be able to help those in sincere need.

So if you (or anybody you know and could pass this on to) would like to be part of setting up this fund, please get in touch with us (katkranz [at] gmail [dot] com)  Below are the details as to how to give towards this fund.

We would appreciate it if you could take the time to pray regarding partnering with some of our island brothers and sisters.

Thankyou for your prayerful consideration,
Katrina and Hinrich Kraenzlin (Pacific Regional Director)
