DTS SEPTEMBER 2009

We are now in the first week of the DTS and already the adventure is well underway! This week everyone on base has been settling in and getting to know each other better as we embark on the next few months. Tuesday started with a a missions focus, exiting people to follow God as a missionary, Wednesday we heard about how to lead worship and yesterday we spent the day at Kai Iwi lakes (by the north west coast of New Zealand) hiking and hanging out.

There is some excitement building as we anticipate the beginning of lectures starting next week with the topic of 'Hearing Gods Voice and Intercession'. What a way to start! Stay tuned for more...

Off They Go...

The February 2009 DTS has completed their lecture phase and are now well into their outreach. There are two teams - one has gone to India while the other Vanuatu. The lecture phase of the school was a hit as were the weekend adventures!

This time everyone went canyoning on the west coast, diving off the east coast, camping, tried out a high ropes course (an insane sport where you walk through a forest on ropes suspended 30feet off the ground by trees!), sea kayaking, hiked a few mountains, and if all that isn't enough some took off to explore some local caves, try their hand at hunting, shoot some paintballs and jump out of a plane... aka skydiving!!!

Of course lectures were also great with many testimonies of freedom and new life. We all had a chance to get into missions before outreach whilst giving a helping hand with local kids programs and youth groups. The school helped run a local 'rave' also which they all enjoyed dressing up for, would like to put up a video link for that one soon.

So now we are all waiting here back at base for the return of the outreach teams and their awesome news... graduation is on August 14th!
