Bible School for the Nations (BSN)
The Bible School for the Nations will...
- Give you a chronological overview of the Bible
- Give you tools to study and interpret the Bible rightly
- Give you a Biblical worldview
- Train you to communicate what is learned in a relevant and cross-cultural way.
The schools vision is to inspire and equipped you as you study chronologically through the old and new testaments, and discover God's methods of discipling nations, as well as practical principles of leadership, civil government and teaching. Understanding these truths is essential to partner with God to bring transformation and liberty to communities and nations.
The purpose of the BSN is to mobilize Bible trainers who are growing in their ability to effectively disciple nations. The school seeks to cultivate people of godly character who are deepening in their love for God, and who understand His character and how He brings about His purposes in history.
Study Methods
BSN uses a chronological approach to study through the Scriptures during a 16 week lecture phase. With an emphasis on application, participants learn interactively how to study and understand the Bible in the context of its history, culture and grammar. Skills are developed to approach difficult passages and to construct a biblical timeline resource. Training and opportunities are also provided for the participants to become more creative and effective communicators.
Outreach
The 8 week outreach phase helps students grow in their team building and leadership skills, as well as gain practical experience in conducting a Bible seminar in a cross-cultural setting. The BSN outreach teams work alongside YWAM's BELT (Biblical Education & Leadership Training) ministry. BELT (www.ywambelt.org) conducts courses for community and church leaders with limited access to biblical training, frequently partnering with Wycliffe Bible Translators to train indigenous leaders after the translation of New Testaments
